Biografía

The works of Mabi Revuelta (Bilbao, 1967) reflect on universal themes, which appear in her work from the beginning. In its creations, the relationships between reality and fiction, the permeability of genres (especially in the unification of literature, performing arts, sculpture and the audiovisual arts) and the search for didactic strategies for valuing art as an agent of social change are constant.
Her last individual exhibitions, Acromática. The so-called immortal game was presented at the Azkuna Zentroa in Bilbao in 2020 and in 2021 at the Tabacalera Promotion Hall of Art in Madrid. They showed the unpublished Acromática project developed thanks to the 2016 Leonardo Scholarship of the BBVA Foundation. In this set of interdisciplinary works, many searches are carried out by the artist, such as the revision of the heritage of the avant-garde of the 20th century or the study of bridges between art and education.
