Commentary on a text about dance proposed by the Panel which will be revealed at the time of the test.
The maturity and knowledge of the candidate will be evaluated, in terms of conceptual comprehension, use of language, capacity to relate and summarise, suitability of responses and critical analysis. This link offers a number of websites and texts which could provide you with guidance in preparing for the written textual commentary section.
This exercise lasts a maximum of 60 minutes.
Candidates may choose to take this written exam in Basque or Spanish, depending on the option selected in their application.
This is practical in nature and is linked to the specialisation, allowing the Panel to evaluate the general, technical, artistic and performance capabilities of the candidate. It comprises three exercises (A, B and C):
Exercise A.
Two classes completed at the level of the final year of professional dance education.
The candidates receive one class in Classical Dance and another in Contemporary Dance, which are delivered by experts appointed by the Panel.
The maximum duration of each class is 75 minutes.
Exercise B.
Performance of one variation chosen by the candidate to evaluate their artistic capacity.
The maximum duration is 3 minutes.
Exercise C.
Exercise C will comprise two parts:
C1: Improvisation session
A group improvisation class will be conducted.
C2: Creation
Performance of an individual creative exercise.
The Panel will propose a theme or guideline as the starting point for a creative work.
The candidates will be granted a maximum of 30 minutes to prepare a staged response lasting 3 minutes. This response will be presented individually once the preparation time has ended.
Following this presentation, the Panel may ask the candidate any questions they may deem appropriate.
The test structure and the marks assigned to each part are set out in Annex I of the decision

Consideration will be given to the maturity and knowledge of the candidate, in terms of conceptual comprehension, use of language, ability to relate and summarise, and appropriateness of response.
This exercise will last a maximum of 60 minutes.
Candidates may choose to take this written exam in Basque or Spanish, depending on the option selected in their application.
Exercise B:
Creative writing exercise: the candidates will view an audiovisual projection proposed by the Panel, and then produce a creative text connected with it.
The Panel will consider creative capacity, the originality of the response, the alignment and consistency between the projection and the response, the artistic/literary quality and textual summary capacity of the text presented by the candidates.
This exercise will last a maximum of 15 minutes.
Candidates may choose to take this written exam in Basque or Spanish, depending on the option selected in their application.
This comprises completing three practical exercises (A, B, C), used to evaluate artistic skills in connection with the corporal, vocal and performance capacities of each candidate.
Exercise A:
The candidates will, either altogether or divided into groups, perform a movement and body exercise directed by a member of the Panel or an appointed expert. Consideration will be given to expressiveness and corporal plasticity, movement in space and time, energy and concentration.
A maximum of 90 minutes will be assigned for this practical class.
Exercise B:
Each candidate will complete all sections of Exercise B:
B. 1. Performance of a free choice of melodic song in Basque, Spanish or any of the official languages of the European Union, with melodic accompaniment. The candidate will provide the melodic accompaniment for the chosen song in digital format, 5 days before the tests are taken (please send the complete file, since streaming links will not be accepted. Once the deadline has passed, no changes may be made to the melodic accompaniment).
The Panel will consider the following aspects: intonation, rhythm, pitch and diction.
B. 2. The candidate will present a dramatisation of a poem. Both the poem and the dramatisation will be provided by the candidate.
Consideration will be given to the depth and appropriateness of the proposed dramatisation, intonation, rhythm, diction and expressiveness.
The candidate will provide the text with the chosen poem, in digital format, 5 days before the tests are taken. The Panel advises the candidates to choose a poem of at least 14 lines.
B. 3. Reading out loud of a text which the Panel will provide when the test is taken.
The Panel will consider the following aspects: intonation, rhythm, expressiveness and diction.
The Panel will set as many exercises as they may wish in order properly to evaluate the candidate. They may likewise interrupt or terminate each of the exercises whenever they should see fit.
The Panel may likewise ask any questions they may consider relevant in order properly to evaluate the candidate.
Candidates will send the melodic accompaniment requested for test B.1 and the poem for the dramatisation in test B.2 in digital format to the following email address at least 5 days before the test is taken: administraritza@dantzerti.eus
Exercise C:
Each candidate will perform a monologue (you may choose the character's gender) from among the following proposals by the Panel:

Consideration will be given to the following aspects: depth, appropriateness and consistency of the proposed staging, stage presence and attitude, concentration, body-voice-text relationship.
The Panel may ask the candidate questions about the tasks performed and/or their expectations.
A maximum of 19 minutes is assigned to perform exercises B and C. The candidate decides the order in which they will perform the exercises. Failure to present or perform any of the exercises comprising the test will disqualify the candidate from subsequent tests, and those already performed will not be marked.
The test structure and the marks assigned to each part are set out in Annex II of the decision.
1. Access tests for 2025/2026 studies will be held in June.
2. The tests will take place at the Dantzerti Higher School of Dramatic Art and Dance (Calle Mar Mediterráneo s/n, Bilbao)
3. If the Panel see fit, they will issue additional instructions to announce any expansion of the above points, on the Dantzerti noticeboard and on this website itself.
4. When taking the tests, candidates must present a Spanish ID card or Foreigner Identification Number, or some other documented accreditation, as well as any apparatus required to perform the tests.
1. Both parts of the specific entrance test must be passed in order to proceed. The definitive grade will only be indicated for those candidates who obtained 10 points or more in the first of the parts, and 40 or more in the second part.
2. The final grade will be expressed in numerical terms on a scale from 1 to 100, to one decimal place, rounded to the closer decimal, with .5 being rounded upwards.
3. In accordance with Article 54.2 of Education Act 2/2006, of 3 May 2006, holders of the Professional Dance Qualification will have this taken into account in the final test grade (in the case of Higher Studies in Dance).
For those holding the Professional Dance Qualification, the final grade will be calculated as follows: specific test (80%) + average grade in the professional qualification (20%).
1. The Panel, which will be appointed by the head of the Directorate for Educational Innovation, will comprise a Chairperson and four members.
2. The Panel may request the cooperation of any consultants deemed appropriate.
3. The Panel will have the following functions:
1. Students with special educational needs may request any adaptation they might require with regard to time and physical resources to take the tests, in order to allow them to perform on equal terms with all other candidates.
2. Such candidates will need to provide proof of their condition by means of the corresponding accreditation certificate.
1. The provisional grades will be published on this website itself within two working days of completion of the tests.
2. Students may file a challenge to their grade in the test within two working days of publication of the provisional results. This challenge should be submitted to the Chairperson of the Panel, and will be ruled on by means of the approval of the definitive grades.
3. The definitive grades will be published within a maximum of one week from publication of the provisional grades.
4. The definitive grade may be appealed before the head of the Directorate for Educational Innovation, within one month of the publication thereof.
NOTE: All information will be published on this website itself, and on the official DANTZERTI noticeboards.
Students who have passed the test can request that the establishment where they were tested issue an accreditation certificate. Certificates will under no circumstances be issued to those candidates who have not successfully passed the entire test, nor partial certificates, nor grade certificates for the different exercises.
The documentation generated during the testing process will be kept at the test centre for three months after the tests are completed.
