What is an ECTS credit, and what is the workload in terms of hours?
It comprises a measurement of work, in this case 30 hours, performed by a student to fulfil the objectives of the corresponding official study curriculum. This includes hours of theoretical or practical tuition, hours of study, time spent on seminars, tasks, practical work or projects, and the time required to prepare for and complete examinations and assessment tests.
It would therefore be wrong to see European credits as equivalent to teaching hours, or to exclude exam preparation and completion from the calculation.
